TGCC Storage and system environment

Storage Architecture Overview

The architecture of TGCC is data centric.

File system management is centralized within a single cluster for the entire data center: GS-TGCC (Global Storage - TGCC).
This cluster provides the different storage spaces used by the computers: temporary data spaces (scratchs), shared workspace (work), and capacitive storage space (store). These spaces are accessed via a very high performance network (Infiniband EDR technology) that connects them to the computers.
The data center filesystems use the open-source file system Lustre, which achieves performance of several hundred gigabytes per second.

The STORE file system makes it possible to store large amounts of data thanks to the implementation of a hierarchical storage mechanism (Luster / HSM) which makes it possible to combine fast media (disks, SSDs, etc.) and more media. capacitive and less expensive such as magnetic tapes.

Data written to the Luster file system is automatically migrated to tapes, seamlessly for users. Tape storage is managed by IBM / HPSS software.
